We're even bigger than we thought!
It seems that Lexington Parks and Government are concerned that LPP 2012 won't fit into the Phoenix Park footprint. For that matter, so were we, if we maintained the the same number of vendor spaces as last year... And it looks like we'll actually have more quality merchants for your shopping pleasure this year. ---So--- we're strongly considering shifting the event date by a week, which will let us make use of the huge plaza before the Lexington Federal Court House Building.
We're hoping this isn't a big deal for most of the BlueGrass Pagan Population. And that our vendors and entertainers can reschedule as well. At least, the proposed revised date, (Sept 29) won't conflict with Louisville's planned event.
Anyway, the planning committee would be more than pleased to hear all your thoughts, either via
lexpaganpride@gmail.com - or- in person at our Beltane pan pagan picnic, this upcoming weekend
Saturday, April 28, 10-3 at Jacobson Park. Potluck, chat, and meet other traditional folk.
Hope to see you there.

Hi-ho sports fans
April 2012- Big Blue trounces the world in basketball, the spring race season begins in the Bluegrass, and Bluegrass Pagan Pride pretty much finally settles on a new event site.
It took a while. We were looking for a site that was accessible, public, and open to things pagan-y in the middle of the bible belt. Lexington UU -was- a good site, open, green, and free. But it's also hidden from passerby, in a relatively untraveled part of Lexington, and well off the public transit network. Phoenix park, although almost completely paved, is -downtown- Lexington, directly in front of the metro-library, next to the city's courthouse, and convenient to various other bits of urban goodness, like bars and eateries. We've got 'real' live music this year thanks to a generous sponsor of both LBPP and the band. Vendors are signing up. We've got civic symbols
of at least Air, Fire and Water conveniently nearby.
Things will be a tad more pricey to put on this year, site deposit will be returned, presuming we don't burn the place down... but we need our own insurance, and we may well have difficulties with food vending, our usual on-site fund raising tool... Public power supplies are limited.
Note that local folks are 'formally' invited to our Pre-pagan-pride local get-together April 28. A potluck picnic to raise more pagan awareness, and give folks yet more opportunity to network, for the Beltain season. Jacobson Park Shelter #4, off Old Richmond Road, Lexinton 10-3, We'll have some games and talking points available, a portable may-pole, and a contribution jar, should you want to support LPP. Hope to see you there.

2011 Off to a Rapid Start, with slow blogging.
Planning for the 2011 Event has been going on, quietly, since February, but I've only just begun updates for the web-page for this season. Stay tuned for new promo material, and new sponsors as they're finalized by the board. As one might guess from the webpage this year's Lexington Bluegrass Pagan Pride Day will once again be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church grounds, on
the (hopefully) newly 3 lane section of Clay's Mill Rd, Lexington KY. (Hooray for turning lanes!) Saturday September 17 11ish-6ish
For what it's worth 2010 went swimmingly as usual and attendance was the high side of 300. We were only confused once with cultural festival down the street at the Greek Orthodox place.
Usual offer still stands, to all you non involved covens, groves, folk, holds, and lodges, PP planning wants your input. Mail lexpaganpride@gmail.com or show up at a planning meeting.

Time's acomming
Lexington Pagan Pride is but 13 days away - Sept 18 2010. Big, bright shiny and new. Menu options on the main web page allow you to download fliers for distribution to your favorite haunts or other locations likely to contain interested pagans.
For comparison, some of the LBPP board visited the Covington area event yesterday (Sept 4). While it was a lovely day, with a number of vendors and a collection of live bands, in a pretty, central city setting. -We- have more booths scheduled already, an ongoing series of classes available, and 3 planned ritual events. And that's not even including the petting zoo and the UUCL orchard-grounds to wander about on.
Show up!
Bring Friends & Canned goods!
Blessed Be!

Midsummer Past
Scheduling for bluegrass pagan pride is heating up. We've got a number of committed musical artists, vendors, and contributors for the Art show ready to go.
Webpage-wise, we've added forms for registration of actual artwork, and artist release to the 'art' drop down. Our art show staff feels the need to have 'hard' documentation for any artwork left in their care for the show, so please print, fill out, and return forms as appropriate to accompany your physical artwork.
Thanks.

Hardly working
Preparations for LexBluegrass Pagan Pride continues apace.
No real mods for the website. Still waiting on the powers
that be to get the press packet together.
LBPP has acquired a new pro-style gas grill for event food prep.
(used $30, plus possibly some replacement parts, and a new tank)
I'm told we have our first vendor sign-ups comming in
as well as entertainment volunteers (including local
fave Skinny-Devil)
Planning meeting for mid march is -tomorrow-
Sunday March 14, 2:00 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington,
on Clays Mill. [Insert regular plea for interested pagans
to stop in, add their two cents, and risk being recruited to do stuff]

low profile continues
Snowy in the Bluegrass.
Hardly any use of forum software.
Lexpaganpride.org is getting some hits, as one would expect.
This Sunday (Feb 21) at 2:00 is yet another BOD meeting for lexington/bluegrass
area pagan pride. Feel free to show up and add your 2 cents about planning this
September's event. We'll be happy to have you drop by.
